Dreamscape Gallery

I have spent a lot of time working with the Dreamscape plugin. I find it delightful and frustrating. Rendertimes are often long and results generally have anomalies. Here are a few images I have produced using the plugin.

Notice the crest of the highest wave in the lower right hand portion of the image. There is a hint of a checkerboard pattern. This kind of render nomaly generally makes Dreamscape unusable for any up close work.

Notice the horrible banding that spans the bottom half of the image. This is caused by Dreamscape's inability to anti-alias it's sub surface scattering with the rest of the scene. I admit, when the footage is in motion and you apply a little blur. it is barely noticable, but as an end user, this seems unacceptable. I based the iceberg image on the demo scene that comes with Dreamscape. I have more than two-hundred hours in tweaking materials and rendering to try to get acceptable results. Once again, quite frustrating.

On the plus side, Dreamscape's terrain material is quite strong.
